The skull has been cut in a parasagittal plane a few millimeters to the left of the midline.

  3. Perpendicular plate of ethmoid bone
  4. Cleft to accommodate sphenoid process cartilaginous septum
  5. Inferior nasal concha
  6. Superior opening of incisive canal
  7. Anterior nasal spine
  8. Dental alveolus
  9. Cribriform plate of ethmoidal bone
  10. Sphenoid sinus
  11. Upper pointer: Aperture of sphenoid sinus (margin partially cut away) Lower pointer: Tip of sphenoid (note small sutural bone beyond pointer)
