Hippocampal commissures; meninges within transverse fissure
A block of tissue including the cingulum and hippocampal structures has been removed on the right side to expose the right pulvinar. Vessels and meninges remain in their normal position within the transverse fissure thus opened. The splenium and gyri cinguli are cut away. The central parts of the lateral ventricles and the forward course of the fornix with the hippocampal commissure interconnecting its two crura are now seen.
