The skin has been removed and superficial nerves, blood vessels and lymphatic structures dissected on the left side.
1 . Transverse nuchal muscle
2 . Posterior auricular lymph nodes
3 . Upper pointer: Posterior auricular muscle Lower pointer: Lesser occipital nerve
4 . Auricle
5 . Sternocleidomastoid muscle (covered by superficial fascia)
6 . Posterior cervical triangle
7 . Trapezius muscle (covered by superficial fascia)
8 . Cutaneous filaments of cervical plexus
9 . Greater auricular nerve
10 . Platysma
11 . Trapezius muscle (near insertion)
12 . Third occipital nerve
