The left inferior constrictor muscle of the pharynx has been reflected from its origin.
  1. Sublingual gland (mandible removed)
  2. Mylohyoid muscle
  3. Anterior belly digastric muscle (turned inferiorly to expose nerve supply)
  4. Left cartilaginous plate of thyroid
  5. Oblique line of thyroid cartilage (covered by tendinous band for attachment of muscles)
  6. Prelaryngeal lymph node
  7. Upper pointer: Straight part of cricothyroid muscle Lower pointer: Oblique part of cricothyroid muscle
  8. Clavicle right
  9. Mylohyoid nerve
  10. Internal carotid artery
  11. Upper pointer: Superior laryngeal artery Lower pointer: External carotid artery
  12. Hypoglossal nerve (XII)
  13. Upper pointer: Internal branch superior laryngeal nerve Lower pointer: Superior horn thyroid cartilage
