The Surfaces of the cerebellum and brain stem
Inferior aspect
The specimen seen in the previous view is now turned to reveal its basal surfaces. The vertebral and basilar arteries have been cut away so that the pons and medulla are more completely visualized.
  1. Rostral lamina of corpus callosum (cut across)
  2. Subcallosal gyrus (cut across)
  3. Olfactory tract
  4. Optic chiasm
  5. Amygdaloid nucleus
  6. Hippocampus
  7. Superior cerebellar artery right
  8. Pons
  9. Trigeminal nerve (V)
  10. Facial nerve (VII)
  11. Vestibulocochlear nerve (VIII) and horizontal cerebellar sulcus
  12. Choroid plexus fourth ventricle
  13. Pyramid [medullae oblongatae]
  14. Olive
