Plantar digital nerves
The superficial dissection has been extended onto the toes with the exposure of the common and proper plantar digital nerves. The subcutaneous tissue (2) has been retained on the second toe to preserve some semblance of the original shape of the ball of the foot.

3 . Fibrous sheath of 1st digit
4 . Common plantar digital nerves and medial plantar nerve
5 . Abductor hallucis muscle
6 . Plantar aponeurosis
7 . Common plantar digital nerves and lateral plantar nerve
