- Medial arcuate ligament of diaphragm (medial lumbocostal arch)
- Sympathetic trunk
- Psoas major muscle
- Ligament of vertebral body (cut in sagittal plane)
- Iliac crest
- Iliacus muscle
- Greater trochanter
- Lesser trochanter
- Anterior longitudinal ligament (joined above this level by right crus of diaphragm which has been cutoff)
- Dura mater (lying within vertebral canal)
- Femoral nerve
