The transversus abdominis muscle has been removed and the rectus muscle has been divided.
  1. Sheath of rectus abdominis muscle (cut edge)
  2. Inferior epigastric artery
  3. Rectus abdominis muscle (cut across)
  4. Upper pointer: Transversus abdominis muscle (lower part of insertion) Lower pointer: Internal oblique muscle (lower part of insertion)
  5. Conjoint tendon
  6. Pyramidalis muscle (visible through rectus sheath)
  7. Reflected inguinal ligament
  8. Pubic tubercle
  9. Pectineus muscle
  10. Adductor longus muscle
  11. Transversalis fascia
  12. Deep inguinal ring
  13. Transversus abdominis muscle (origin)
  14. Branch of deep circumflex iliac artery (note communication with inferior epigastric artery)
  15. Ligamentum teres (of uterus)
  16. Upper pointer: Deep femoral arch Lower pointer: Inguinal ligament
  17. Femoral sheath
  18. Femoral canal
  19. Lateral femoral cutaneous nerve
