Dissection of lungs in situ
Right lung.
The upper and middle lobes have been removed. The lobar bronchi (2, 17) have been preserved with their segmental divisions. The lower lobe has been partially dissected.
1 . Azygos vein (cut off)
2 . Bronchus of upper right lobe
3 . Right pulmonary artery (upper pointer, branch to upper lobe lower pointer, interlobar part)
4 . Superior branch lower lobe right pulmonary artery
5 . Superior segmental bronchus
6 . Lower lobe (pointer on interlobar surface)
7 . Basal branch anterior right pulmonary artery
8 . Anterior basal segmental bronchus
9 . Medial basal segmental bronchus
10 . Inferior intersegmental vein
11 . Medial basal segmental bronchus (left pointer, anterior branch; right pointer, medial branch)
12 . Diaphragmatic surface lower lobe
13 . Ascending aorta
14 . Superior tracheobronchial lymph nodes
15 . Pulmonary trunk
