The vaginal ligament and synovial sheath have been removed from the fourth finger. Reference should be made to 98-1 for a general view of the muscle.

2 . Adductor pollicis muscle (transverse head)
3 . Flexor pollicis brevis muscle (deep head)
4 . Opponens pollicis muscle (area of insertion)
5 . Flexor pollicis longus muscle (tendon of insertion)
6 . Transverse carpal ligament (cut to expose carpal tunnel)
