Summary: "After taking several examinations for wound care specialization, we realized that having medical knowledge and applying it to clinical scenarios are two different skill sets. As a result, we decided to create a bank of practice questions for providers in all medical specialties and at all levels, in order to help make clinical decisions when taking the exams. The questions cover wound healing physiology, patient and wound assessment, wound diagnosis and classification, prevention, patient and wound management, factors that impede wound healing, documentation, and professional concerns. The true art of a study guide is understanding not only why the answer is correct, but why the others are incorrect. Therefore, each question includes a rationale for the correct answer and reasons that the distractors are incorrect. There are one or two references for each question which are the basis for the answers and also provide some guidance on study materials. As busy wound care providers, active studying is critical to our continued education and board certification. It is our hope that this will enable potential examinees to enter the exam with confidence and help promote wound management as a medical specialty for all professions."--Preface
