The incidence of hematuria was 12%. The causes of hematuria were similar to those in the general population with inflammatory conditions predominating. Urologic malignancy was not found. Hematuria heralded rejection episodes in three instances. Complete evaluation of hematuria revealed pathology of the urinary tract in every instance.
