- ArticleSly RM.Pediatrics. 1975 Nov;56(5 pt-2 suppl):910-5.Exercise-induced asthma can be prevented or minimized by beta-adrenoreceptor stimulating drugs, which may elicit bronchodilation before exercise has begun or may enhance thebronchodilating effect of more prolonged exercise. Recently introduced beta-adrenoreceptor stimulants have longer durations of action than isoproterenol, are effective following oral administration, and are selective for beta-adrenoreceptors.
