National Library Week

It’s National Library Week

What brings you joy? Whether it’s learning a new skill, completing an in-depth literature review, publishing an article in an open access journal with no article processing charges, finding a quiet study space or something else, you can find your joy at Lane Medical Library.

National Library Week, April 19–25, 2026, is a time to celebrate the many ways libraries bring people together, spark imagination, and support lifelong learning. From research tools to expert help, libraries are essential to thriving research communities. First celebrated in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association and libraries of all types across the country each April.

At Lane Medical Library, we invite everyone to join the celebration! Whether you're a longtime library user or new to the library, now is the perfect time to explore all the library has to offer. Our library provides regular classes and a full menu of research services, ensuring that everyone has access to resources that educate, inspire, and connect.

National Library Week is a great time to explore everything Lane Library has to offer! Here are some suggestions:

  • Take a class to learn something new. We offer classes on literature searching, data science, reference management, research impact, and more.
  • Explore our Guides to get up to speed on a new topic or learn about new resources in your speciality.
  • Partner with a librarian on a literature search or evidence synthesis project.
  • Invite your liaison librarian to come teach something to your class, lab, or department. We offer on-demand library instruction on a wide range of research topics.
  • Visit our library space. We offer a variety of study spaces. You can also browse specialized collections including the BioSci Career Collection, the Dean’s Reading List, Medical Humanities Collection, D-CORE Collection and more.

If you have any questions about Lane Library services or resources, please reach out for help! We look forward to working with you!
