Troubleshooting Tips

You are required to login to identify yourself when you are accessing materials licensed by Lane Medical Library. If you experience access issues, try these troubleshooting tips.

Clear Cookies and Cache

You must enable cookies in your web browser to access library resources. If you are receiving and error message, please try clearing your cookies and cache for your web browser.

Try Another Browser

If you are experience issues access a resource on your usual browser, try using an alternative web browser. You can also try using an incognito browser to see if that resolves your issue.

If you continue to experience issues accessing a specific resource, please report an access issue to our team.
Remember to quit your browser after a session on a shared computer or device.

Accessing Materials Not Available at Lane Library

You can request materials including article PDFs, books, and book chapters not available through Lane Library using our DocXpress Document Delivery Service. You must register to use this service. The registration is separate from your SuNet or hospital ID.

Login Options

Use one of the following three login options to access library resources. Logging into Lane Library may grant your browser access to other Stanford protected websites.
Check the “Stay logged in for 4 weeks” box to have persistent access to Lane Library resources in your browser for 28 days.
To revoke access to Lane Library and other Stanford protected websites, please logout and quit your browser.

SUNet ID

A SUNet ID identifies you as a member of the Stanford community.

Your SUNet ID and password allow you to access online materials licensed by Lane Library or other Stanford libraries.

A SUNet ID is required in order to use Lane Library's computers and scanners.

Lane Library does not handle SUNet ID issues.

Enterprise ID (SID, Epic ID)

An Enterprise ID (SID, Epic ID) identifies you as a member of the Stanford Health Care and the University Healthcare Alliance community.

Most Stanford Health Care and University Healthcare Alliance providers with an Enterprise ID (SID, Epic ID) and password are eligible for online access to materials licensed by Lane Library or other Stanford libraries.

Please contact the library if you have questions regarding your eligibility or are unable to access Lane Library using your SID. For all other SID issues, please contact the SHC Help Desk.

Stanford Children’s Health ID

A Stanford Children’s Health ID identifies you as a member of the Stanford Children’s Health or the Packard Children’s Health Alliance community.

Most Stanford Children’s Health and Packard Children’s Health Alliance providers with a Stanford Children’s ID and password are eligible for online access to materials licensed by Lane Library or other Stanford libraries.

Please contact the LPCH Help Desk if you have questions regarding your eligibility or are unable to access Lane using your Stanford Children’s ID. You will need to request that access to Lane Library be added to your Access Control List.

Password Issues

Lane Library does not handle password issues. To correct problems with your password, you need to contact the support staff for your organization.
Try checking your spelling and make sure the “caps lock” key is off. If you are still experiencing password issues, please contact the information technology support team associated with your ID type.
