Dissection of posterior aspect of left leg
Posterior tibial and peroneal arteries; tibialis posterior muscle
The flexor digitorum longus and flexor hallucis longus have been pulled apart to reveal the belly of the tibialis posterior (11) lying deeply placed between the two muscles. The changing relations of the tendons of the deep flexors is evident as the tendons pass behind the ankle into the foot. The peroneal and posterior tibial arteries (3,9) are shown divested of accompanying veins.
