External aspect of peritoneum, anterior view
The abdominal musculature has been cut from its costal attachments. Incisions have been carried downward on each side to the iliac crest and then anteriorly along the crest. The resulting apron has been reflected down over the pubic region and thighs. The thorax has been opened.
