Dorsal aspect of right forearm
Dorsal interosseous nerve
The deep extensor muscles have been cut and reflected. The compartment for the common extensor tendons deep to the dorsal carpal ligament has been dissected to display the terminal articular branches of the dorsal interosseous nerve.
1 . Abductor pollicis longus muscle (cut)
2 . Extensor pollicis brevis muscle (cut)
3 . Extensor carpi radialis longus muscle (tendon)
4 . Extensor carpi radialis brevis muscle (tendon)
5 . Compartment for extensor pollicis longus muscle
6 . Dorsal carpal ligament (compartments for extensor tendons opened)
7 . Compartment for common extensor digitorum muscle and extensor indicis muscle
8 . Articular branches of dorsal interosseous (antebrachial) nerve
9 . Dorsal carpal branch of radial artery
