- ArticleOpdyke DF, Holcombe R.Am J Physiol. 1976 Dec;231(6):1750-3.The spiny dogfish shark, which does not have renal juxtaglomerular cells, exhibits a strong pressor response to both angiotensin I and II. A nonapeptide, angiotensin I-converting-enzyme inhibitor, blocks the pressor response to angiotensin I in this fish. The pressor response to both angiotensin II and norepinephrine is completely blocked by the adrenergic blocking drug phentolamine.
