Library spaces and computers are available for SUNet and hospital ID holders.

Please do not leave your personal items unattended.

Accessibility

Lane Library is committed to serving all members of the Stanford Medicine community. If you have accessibility issues or special needs, please contact us.

Access for persons with limited mobility:

  • Parking is available for those with accessible parking permits at the L-9 surface parking lot or the Roth Parking Garage, both on the corner of Campus Dr. and Roth Way
  • Lane Library has a power-equipped accessible front entrance and elevator access to the lower level
  • Height-adjustable tables are available on each floor of the library
  • The library does not have accessible restrooms, however there are some nearby in the Lane Building
  • Staff members are available at the front service desk to assist patrons
  • The library’s collections are housed in compact shelving. Library staff are available to retrieve books for any users.

Visiting Lane Library

Visiting Policies

  • You must show an active Stanford University or hospital ID to enter the library.
  • The public is not permitted at this time.
  • Face coverings are no longer required but are strongly recommended, regardless of vaccination status. Extra masks are available at the Information Desk.
  • Cleaning supplies will be available throughout the library.

No scooters or bikes are allowed in the library. Please park them outside.

Please adhere to Stanford’s Service Animal Guidelines while visiting the Lane Library. Keep the animal under your control and on a leash/harness, unless performing a task. Please don’t disturb other library users. Some Library spaces, such as the Medical History Center, may require advanced preparation for service animal visits, so please alert library staff as soon as possible before your visit.
