Nerve and blood supply to left deltoid muscle, lateral view
The deltoid muscle has been detached from its origin and reflected laterally. Fascia has been removed from the deep surface of the muscle to expose nerves and blood vessels. The infraspinatus fascia (10) remains intact.
- Subdeltoid bursa overlying head of humerus
- External intercostal muscle (in background)
- Fascia over shoulder joint
- Surgical neck of humerus
- Articular branch of posterior circumflex artery of humerus
- Deltoid muscle (reflected laterally)
- Branch to deltoid of thoracoacromial artery (reflected with deltoid muscle)
- Acromion
- Acromial origin of deltoid muscle (cut across)
- Infraspinatus fascia
- Teres minor muscle (visible through infraspinatus fascia)
- Axillary nerve
- Posterior circumflex artery of humerus
