Cervical meninges, spinal cord and nerve roots dissected from behind
Cervical spinal cord and nerve roots in relation to meninges, close-up view of fifth cervical nerve
The spinal cord has been divided between the roots of the fifth and sixth cervical nerves. The arches of the fourth and fifth cervical vertebrae have been cut away to expose the roots, ganglion and dorsal ramus of the fifth cervical nerve. A branch of the right vertebral artery supplies the dura mater (17) and additional branches pass to the spinal cord with the dorsal and ventral roots.
