Interior of right knee joint, cruciate ligaments divided

The collateral ligaments and cruciate ligaments have been cut through to permit the separation of the femur from the tibia.

1. Posterior cruciate ligament (divided)
2. Anterior cruciate ligament (divided)
3. Lateral condyle of femur
4. Collateral ligament of fibula (divided)
5. Iliotibial tract (cut off)
6. Lateral meniscus (note its separation from fibular collateral ligament)
7. Lateral condyle of tibia (articular surface)
8. Infrapatellar fat body
9. Patellar articular surface
10. Line of reflection of articular capsule
11. Medial condyle of femur
12. Collateral ligament of tibia (divided)
13. Upper pointer: Posterior meniscofemoral ligament (cut off) Lower pointer: Anterior meniscofemoral ligament (cut off)
14. Medial meniscus (note fusion with tibial collateral ligament)
15. Medial condyle of tibia (articular surface)
