Navicular fossa within distal part of urethra
The terminal part of the urethra has been opened to display the dilated navicular fossa within the glans penis. The glans has been separated from the blunt, terminal parts of the corpora cavernosa.
1 . Location of external urethral opening (not visible)
2 . Incision through wall of penis continued proximally into corpus spongiosum
3 . Navicular fossa of urethra (note longitudinal mucosal ridges along wall)
