Lymph nodes and vessels of greater curvature of stomach and hilus of spleen, close-up view
The part of the greater omentum which forms the gastrosplenic ligament has been dissected to display lymph nodes and lymphatic vessels which are associated with branches of the left gastroepiploic and splenic arteries. A view of the blood vessels and nerves in this region after the lymphatic tissue has been removed is shown in 142-2.
. Major curvature of stomach
. Gastrocolic ligament (posterior peritoneal layer behind which omental bursa is located)
. Pancreaticosplenic lymph nodes
. Left colic flexure
. Greater omentum (dissected)
. Spleen
. Splenic artery and vein (branches entering spleen)
. Left gastroepiploic artery and vein
. Tail of pancreas
. Greater omentum (left limit of dissected area)
. Diaphragm
