Detailed dissection of heart
Interior of right ventricle viewed through ostium of tricuspid valve
The walls of the open right atrium have been stretched apart. The fibrous ring of the tricuspid valve (indicated by dotted line in the drawing) is held in an open position to expose the cavity of the right ventricle. The conus arteriosus leads out of the upper left part of the ventricular cavity and is not visible.
- Trabeculae carnae
- Septomarginal trabecula (moderator band, along the surface of which the right branch of the atrioventricular bundle is visible as a narrow white streak)
- Septal (medial) cusp of tricuspid valve
- Location of atrioventricular node (subendocardial)
- Coronary sinus (opening into right atrium)
- Valve of coronary sinus
- Valve of inferior vena cava
- Endocardium of anterior wall of right atrium
- Anulus fibrosus
- Anterior cusp tricuspid valve
- Anterior papillary muscle
- Chordae tendineae
