Exploration of the brain from its superior aspect
Lentiform nucleus, uncinate fasciculus; roof of third ventricle
The claustrum and external capsule have been removed to display the lateral surface of the lentiform nucleus. A few vertically directed fibers of the external capsule still remain on this surface. The meninges of the transverse fissure have been taken away to expose the thalamus, tela chorioidea and choroid plexus of the third ventricle and the pineal body.
