The volar and transverse carpal ligaments, which together comprise the flexor retinaculum, have been resected to expose the contents of the carpal canal.
1 . Abductor pollicis brevis muscle
2 . Flexor pollicis brevis muscle (superficial head)
3 . Flexor pollicis brevis muscle (deep head)
4 . Opponens pollicis muscle
5 . Metacarpotrapezial joint capsule
6 . Abductor pollicis longus muscle (tendon of insertion)
7 . Extensor pollicis brevis muscle (tendon of insertion)
8 . Superficial anterior branch radial artery
9 . Palmar cutaneous branch of median nerve
10 . Flexor carpi radialis muscle (tendon of insertion)
