Relations of deep head of flexor pollicis brevis, tendon of flexor pollicis longus, and adductor pollicis muscles

The abductor pollicis brevis (7) and superficial head of the flexor pollicis brevis (8) have been elevated and partially resected.

1. Proper palmar digital nerves of median nerve
2. Adductor pollicis muscle (transverse head)
3. Branch of median nerve to metacarpophalangeal joint and tendon sheath of thumb
4. Lumbrical muscle I
5. Proximal phalanx thumb (covered by periosteum)
6. Ligament of digital sheath
7. Abductor pollicis brevis muscle (elevated)
8. Flexor pollicis brevis muscle (superficial head, elevated)
9. Muscular branch of ulnar nerve (to flexor pollicis brevis muscle)
10. Flexor pollicis longus muscle (tendon of insertion)
11. Opponens pollicis muscle (reflected laterally)
12. Flexor pollicis brevis muscle (deep head)
13. First carpometacarpal joint capsule
14. Transverse carpal ligament
15. Muscular branch of median nerve (recurrent branch, displaced medially)
16. Median artery (large)
17. Common palmar digital nerves of median nerve
18. Adductor pollicis muscle (oblique head)
19. Anterior common digital artery (to thumb and index finger)
