Nerve supply to lower part of sartorius; saphenous nerve; adductor canal and adductor hiatus, medial view

The lower part of the thigh is viewed from the medial side to visualize the nerves which enter the sartorius. This muscle has been divided and reflected posteriorly.

1. Adductor longus muscle
2. Muscular branch femoral nerve (to sartorius muscle)
3. Adductor magnus muscle
4. Sartorius muscle (cut off and reflected)
5. Semimembranosus muscle
6. Gracilis muscle
7. Descending genicular artery (saphenous branch)
8. Saphenous nerve
9. Popliteal artery (in background)
10. Femoral artery (within opened adductor canal)
11. Rectus femoris muscle
12. Fascia bridging across hiatus adductorius
13. Margin of hiatus adductorius
14. Tendon of adductor magnus muscle
15. Vastus medialis muscle
16. Patella
17. Infrapatellar branch of saphenous nerve
