Haemophilus influenzae

For infections with beta-lactamase producing H. influenzae: cefuroxime, cefotaxime, trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole, amoxicillin/clavulanate, or azithromycin is recommended. Cefotaxime or ceftriaxone is drug of choice for CNS infections. At LPCH, 66% of H. influenzae are ampicillin susceptible.
