TO REFRESH or CHANGE YOUR SUNET ID PASSWORD......
In order to use the new SUNet ID logon to the Lane computers you might need to refresh or change your SUNet ID password. It is a good security practice to change your password periodically.
Please follow the instructions below.
1) Go to StanfordYou at http://stanfordyou.stanford.edu
2) On the StanfordYou page click on "Change Your SUNet password"
3) The Password window will be displayed...
Enter your current password
Enter the new password you want (or re-enter your current password**)
Enter it again ( or re-enter your current password)
Drop down menu: select "Prompt" (e.g., make and model of your first car)
Personal fact (which is based on the prompt you select)
Then select save----------
If your current password meets the acceptable Stanford security guidelines---the save will go through and you'll return to the StanfordYou webage.
**If your current password is ancient and contains a dictionary word and not enough letters, symbols, and numbers----then it will prompt you to enter a NEW, replacement SUNET password.
You may have to try several times to find the password which works for you. For Password rules and tips visit: unixdocs.stanford.edu/passwords.html
