Go to Check status/Reset password on the SUNet ID page.
1. Enter your SUNet ID and click "Continue".
2. Click the "Reset your password" link.
3. Fill in the identifying information. (You'll need your Stanford University ID and Social Security numbers); "Continue".
4. Follow the steps provided.
6. When you reach the "Done" page, remember to quit your browser.
The system will prevent you from selecting a password that is easily guessed. For the password rules and suggestions go to unixdocs.stanford.edu/passwords.html
Two password tips:
a.) Try substituting numbers for letters: 1=>i, 0=>o, 3=>e, etc.
b.) Try your first address; listing the street name without vowels first: i.e. 3045 Michigan Ave. => mchgn3045
SUNet IDs are generally listed in the Community Members Only version of the Stanford Who? online directory.
Since a SUNetID is required to access the Community version, someone at the library service desk can look up your record for you.
If your SUNetID doesn't appear in the record contact HELPSU at 725-8000.
