What privileges do Stanford School of Medicine alumni receive?

Alumni and alumnae enjoy lifelong free access to Lane Medical Library and may use our online resources from anywhere on campus, as well as in Lane. Within the library, the print collections, photocopiers, and other resources are freely available. In addition, Munzer Business Center in the Alumni Center has facilities for checking email, faxing, and photocopying.

Medical School alumni have free borrowing privileges at Lane. Bring a picture ID to register for borrowing. Medical School alumni include former postdocs, house staff, fellows, and participants in degree programs who completed at least 3 academic quarters. Stanford University alumni may purchase borrowing privileges at Lane. Contact the Service Desk if you have any questions.

Off-campus access to electronic resources is limited by our licensing agreements to current faculty, students, and staff, and is not available for purchase. Alumni are welcome to use online resources from computers on campus.

Reference service is available to Medical School alumni. Make an appointment by calling 650-723-6831, or stop at the Service Desk. You can also send email to laneaskus@stanford.edu.

Register for library privileges at Green/Meyer Libraries at Green Library's Privileges window weekdays, M-F 8-5. Bring a picture ID. For privileges at other campus libraries, contact the library directly.
