Where can I access books online (eBooks)?

What is it?

The full text of a wide variety of recent books ranging from biology to computer science and chemistry can be accessed online.

What is it for?

  • Evaluating books prior to purchase
  • Quickly accessing information without having to wait to order and receive a book, or having to physically going to a library

Example topics

  • Software programming topics, e.g., from Safari and Books24X7 - see the Software Programming Packages section of Lane's eBooks page.
  • Using software applications, including manuals for common tools such as Word and Excel

Where can I find it?

  • Lane's eBook page
  • See titles owned by the Lane Library
  • Science and Engineering Library selection's of eBooks can be accessed here
For example, a considerable selection of books from O'Reilly Publishing are available via the Proquest Safari service. See also Lane FAQs on eBooks from other providers.

If you don't find what you want, just let the Lane Library's Acquisitions Department know, and we should be able to add the title to the list.
