What is the Comprehensive Microbial Repository?

What is it?

The Comprehensive Microbial Repository (CMR) is a repository of data covering all microbial genomes whose genome has been sequenced to completion.

What is it for?

  • Performing comparative genomics analyses
  • Searching for proteins using properties such as molecular weight, hydrophobicity, GC-content, functional role assignments or taxonomy.
  • Performing data mining tasks using pre-run homology searches
  • Examining whole genome dot-plots to evaluate areas of sequence similarity
  • Downloading selected data for further analysis

What's in it?

  • Complete genome sequences and data from dozens of bacterial species
  • Comprehensive annotations (e.g., gene characterizations) for each species
