The rectus femoris (10) has been cut off close to its origin. The vastus lateralis has been dissected.
1 . Pectineus muscle
2 . Femoral artery
3 . Muscular branch of femoral nerve (to vastus intermedius)
4 . Muscular branch of femoral nerve (to vastus medialis)
5 . Adductor longus muscle
6 . Femoral vein (cut off)
7 . Sartorius muscle (cut off and reflected medially)
8 . Saphenous nerve
9 . Iliacus muscle
10 . Rectus femoris muscle (cut off)
11 . Tensor fasciae latae muscle
12 . Upper pointer: Ascending branch of lateral femoral circumflex artery Lower pointer: Transverse branch of lateral femoral circumflex artery
