External muscular layer of gastric wall, posterior aspect
The stomach has been rotated upward and to the right. The peritoneum which covered the posterior surface of the stomach has been removed to reveal the outer longitudinal layer of muscle.
1 . Major curvature of stomach
2 . Body of stomach (peritoneum removed to expose tunica muscularis)
3 . Lesser curvature of stomach
4 . Angular notch
5 . Pyloric antrum
6 . Pyloric canal
7 . Pylorus
8 . Thoracic aorta
9 . Fundus of stomach
10 . Diaphragm
11 . Spleen
12 . Left pointer: Esophagus (emerging through esophageal hiatus) Right pointer: Phrenic lymph node
